Introduction
This 5-days Hanoi-Ha Giang-Cao Bang-Bac Kan-Hanoi allows you to visit the well-known destinations with breathtaking views such as Dong Van, Meo Vac, Ma Pi Leng pass in Ha Giang, Bao Lac in Cao Bang and amazing Ba Be Lake in Bac Kan province. Ha Giang is Vietnam’s northernmost provinces, which is about 300km to the north of Hanoi and located at the highest latitude in Vietnam. It shares a border with China to the north. Many ethnic minorities, including the Dao, H’mong, Tay, and Nung, live in Ha Giang province. Lo Lo people live along river in little town-Bao Lac in Cao Bang province, Ba Be Lake is the largest natural lake in Vietnam. It is located in Bac Kạn Province in the northeastern region of the country. The tour should be at the weekends for the visit of Dong Van Sunday ethnic market.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Hanoi – Ha Giang(L,D)
Day 2: Ha Giang – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Lung Cu – Dong Van Karst Plateau(B,L,D)
Day 3: Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Meo Vac – Bao Lac(B,L,D)
Day 4: Bao Lac-Ba Be Lake(B,L,D)
Day 5: Ba Be Lake – Hanoi(B,L)
Day 1: Hanoi – Ha Giang (L, D)
Today we leave Hanoi for Ha Giang tour. The drive to Ha Giang taking around 7 hours for some of the most breathtaking sceneries in Vietnam. On the way, stopover at some places to visit small villages and take photos. After the long drive, take a short walk around Ha Giang to visit a Tay and Nung village, set in a picturesque valley near town. Overnight in Ha Giang
Day 2: Ha Giang – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Lung Cu – Dong Van (B, L, D)
In the morning, drive to Quan Ba district and stop in Quan Ba on the way to visit the Bo Y minority village. Have lunch in Yen Minh town and take rest for an hour then continue the trip to visit the Flag tower on the top of Lung Cu mountain located at the sharing border with China.
In the afternoon, arrive in Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark then to explore the majestic nature created by rocks, limestone, and rocky peaks. Later, stroll around Dong Van town, enjoy dinner of local specialties. Overnight in Dong Van town

Day 3: Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Meo Vac – Bao Lac(B,L,D)
Crossing spectacular Ma Pi Leng pass to Bao Lac, visit to villages of Lo Lo & H’mong people
After breakfast at the hotel, we will depart from Dong Van to Meo Vac by crossing Ma Pi Leng Pass which seduces you with the breathtaking view of limestone mountains, Nho Que River and H'mong Villages nested in the mountain. Continue to Bao Lac. This is well known for the Black Lo Lo ethnic group. This region was highlighted by the French media, “The journey into unknown land”. This documentary was filmed in Khuoi Khon village of the Lo Lo people, 9km away from Bao Lac town, by the rugby player, Frederik Michalak. Lunch is served in Bao Lac town and check in to your hotel.
In the afternoon, we transfer to Coc Xa village, in the Na Van commune. This village of the Lo Lo ethnic group remains more authentic than Khuoi Khon village which became more touristic after the famous documentary. Walk through the rice fields and trails in the village, visit the local people's houses, and talk with the hosts to understand more about the local life as well as their traditional customs. Go back to the town and stay overnight in your hotel.
Day 4: Bao Lac-Ba Be Lake(B,L,D)
Encountering San Chi ethnic people in hill villages, transfer to Ba Be, exploring Hua Ma cave
Depart to Ba Be via Tinh Tuc, 30km from Bao Lac, in Hung Dao commune, there is a beautiful village of San Chi ethnic. Of course, we will stop to visit and discover the beauty of the village. You are one of a small number of travelers who get to visit this area because of its hidden location behind the hill. The village has hundreds of houses on stilts nested on the side of mountains and views of the beautiful valley. To reach to the village, you will have to walk up a 2km steep incline. The higher you walk, the better view you get. Visit a family to understand the authentic life of this ethnic group.
Continue to Ba Be, where you will be surprised by the magnificent nature where the mountains gently meet the valleys of rice terraces. Stop to film or take photos whenever possible. Upon arrival in Ba Be, check in your accommodation in Pac Ngoi Village and go cycling through several villages of Tay ethnic groups to Hua Ma cave (5km from the village). This is an attractive place with amazing formations of stalactites and stalagmites. Finally, come back to your accommodation.
Note: For more interacting with local people and get authentic experience, we invite you stay at homestay with basic equipment: clean mattress, pillow, mosquito net, blankets, outside WC and hot water shower but hotel service is also available, please contact us to get good advises.

Day 5: Ba Be Lake – Hanoi(B,L)
Relaxing boat trip to explore Puong Cave, Dau Dang waterfall
In the morning, take a walk from the village to the pier to enjoy a boat trip on the lake (It is possible to swim in the lake). Stop to discover the Fairy Pond in the middle of the primitive forest. After the lake, move to Nang river. Walk along the river bank and be immersed in the beauty of wild and reach Dau Dangwaterfall.
Keep continue our boat trip in the opposite direction along the Nang River to Puong Cave home to thousands of bats inside the cave. The boat will go through the cave toward to Buoc Lom pier. Meet our driver for a transfer to Hanoi.
Arrive in Hanoi in the late afternoon. Check in at your hotel and enjoy some free time after the mountain getaway.

Thing to bring:
Warm clothes, scarf, hat, cap because the weather in Hagiang is pretty unpredictable. It is normally cold in September, October, November, December , January, February and March .
Due to altitude of Dong Van. It is sometimes foggy in December, January , February and March.
Trekking shoes, sun glasses, sun cream, insect repellent are also necessary. You should take cash with you in vietnam Dong because banking system in Hagiang-Ba Be lake sometimes does not function well. Us Dollar, Euro, Australian Dolla are not accepted sometime.
You shoule take medicine with you although there are some chemist’s shops in Ha Giang, Ba Be lake in case you get sick. Homestay’s facilities are not as in hotel in Ha Giang.
