Bamboo Airways to Resume HCMC-Bangkok Flights After One-Year Hiatus

Bamboo Airways to resume daily HCMC-Bangkok flights from Nov. 26 after a year-long suspension, with fares starting at VND3.56 million (US$143). Bamboo Airways has announced the resumption of its regular service between Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and Bangkok, starting next month, after a one-year suspension. Tickets for the revived route are now available for booking, as confirmed by the airline in a recent Facebook announcement.

The daily return flights between HCMC's Tan Son Nhat International Airport and Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport will begin on November 26. Round-trip fares are competitively priced, starting at VND3.56 million (approximately US$143).

Bamboo Airways initially launched flights from HCMC to Bangkok in April 2022, followed by a Hanoi-Bangkok route in March 2023. At that time, flights landed at Bangkok’s larger Suvarnabhumi Airport. The switch to Don Mueang is a strategic move for the airline as it rebuilds its network.

Once a major player in the Southeast Asian market, Bamboo Airways operated flights to destinations across Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Europe, and Australia. However, in October 2023, the airline suspended several routes due to financial struggles, including debt, losses from rapid expansion, and challenges stemming from the Covid-19 pandemic and rising fuel costs.
